Mood Disorder Care

Living with a mood disorder such as bipolar disorder or recurrent depression can feel unpredictable-good days followed by crashes, energy surges that lead to impulsive choices, or long stretches where everything feels flat and difficult. Our Mood Disorder Care focuses on stabilization, understanding, and long-term support so you are not facing these shifts alone.
We begin with a careful evaluation of your history, including mood episodes, hospitalizations, family patterns, substance use, and past treatments. We take time to understand your life context-work, relationships, culture, and stressors-so we can distinguish between normal ups and downs and a mood condition that needs specific care.
From there, we work with you to design a plan that may include medication, lifestyle adjustments, psychoeducation, and skills for early warning sign detection. If medication is appropriate, we explain options clearly and monitor your response over time, with particular attention to sleep, energy, and safety.
Education is a key part of this service. We help you understand your diagnosis in a way that reduces shame and increases your sense of control. You learn how to track patterns, identify triggers, and create a personal plan for what to do when moods start to shift. When you wish, we can include trusted family members or supports in these conversations.
Care is available via telehealth across California and in-person, with early morning, evening, and weekend appointments to support consistency even when life is busy. Because mood disorders are often lifelong conditions, we focus on building an ongoing partnership rather than quick fixes.
With the right support, many people find that mood swings become less intense, crises less frequent, and life more predictable. Our goal is to help you build a path where stability and hope are not rare moments, but a more regular part of your everyday experience.
